Overview
Join us for a relaxed and inspiring morning of coffee, conversation, and co-working at Town Square Kingston, hosted in collaboration with Emma Peries (aka Digital Mother) – Social Media Strategist, former TV producer, and local champion of female founders.
This event is all about bringing our creative, freelance, and founder community together in a welcoming space where you can meet like-minded people, enjoy a delicious pastry (or two), and settle in for a productive day by the river
This month:
We’re delighted to be joined by Johanna Barton, founder of Polkadot Wellies Gardening Services. Johanna is a talented garden designer transforming outdoor spaces into places of calm and connection across South West London and Surrey. Her work celebrates nature’s rhythm - creating gardens that evolve beautifully with the seasons and she’s passionate about how thoughtful design and horticultural therapy can nurture both wellbeing and creativity.
This month, we’re exploring the Beth Chatto's ethos of “right plant, right place” - and how it connects beautifully to the idea of “right people, right place” in our work and lives. Just as a well-planted garden thrives when everything is in harmony, so do we when we grow in spaces (and with people) that support us.
We’ll dig into:
🌱 Why thoughtful planting design saves time, money, and energy
🌼 What gardening can teach us about cultivating balance and clarity in business and life
And yes - we’ll get hands-on! Johanna will guide us through a relaxing and creative bulb-planting session (we’ll be planting beautiful muscari bulbs), where you’ll connect with nature, enjoy mindful moments of calm, and take home your very own planted pot!
What your Thursday event looks like:
🕙 10:00 am – Welcome!
Grab a fresh coffee, fruit, and a sweet (or healthy) treat supplied by Argonaut Coffee.
💬 10:30 am – Group chat
Using conversation cards to spark reflection and connection around our theme: Right place, right people (and plants!).
🤝 11:00 am – Peer sessions
Pair up and dive into a business question or current challenge.
🌷 11:30 am – Get hands-on with Johanna
A mindful, practical bulb-planting session inspired by the “right plant, right place” philosophy. You’ll connect to nature, learn simple garden design tips, and create a planted pot to take home.
💻 12:00 pm onwards – Co-working with a view
Stay and work in our beautiful riverside space until 5 pm.
