ABOUT RIDDIMS OF GRAFFITI
DVCAI at Barry University presents Riddims of Graffiti, a solo exhibition featuring Izia Lindsay. Working in mixed media across digital and traditional approaches, Lindsay explores symbolism in Caribbean iconography—rooted in tradition and interpreted through contemporary ideas—to build multi-layered artistic narratives. His work considers identity and class in a post-colonial society, drawing from material culture, indigenous societies, traditions, and the ever-changing landscape of the Caribbean.
Join us throughout the run of the exhibition for public programs that bring the work into conversation with DVCAI’s curatorial team and the community.
On view: May 14– August 22, 2026.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Izia Lindsay is a mixed media artist who works across digital and traditional media to create bold, multi-layered visual stories. Grounded in Caribbean iconography and shaped by contemporary ideas, his work explores identity and class in a post-colonial society—drawing from material culture, indigenous histories, lived traditions, and the ever-changing landscape of the Caribbean.
Known for geometric forms and dynamic compositions, Lindsay builds what he describes as a kind of “controlled naturalism,” where lines and shapes intersect, overlap, and hold multiple meanings at once. The result is a cultural narrative that reflects the dualities of a turbulent, cosmopolitan Caribbean life.
