So, to add to the fun, I'll have a few guests joining and sitting in on this show: Sara Shansky and Pj Christie will each sit in and perform a couple of their tunes, and Elizabeth Ivey will join on vocals and melodica. Then, for the first time more than a year, 3/4 of the Tex Offenders (Hunt Wellborn, Denise Ellsworth, and I) will reunite to play a couple of tunes for the folks! It'll be a fun afternoon set in Brentwood!BIO:
Rich Restaino has been a fixture in the Austin music scene for the last two decades, playing both his own music and as a sideman for a variety of artists, including The Lennings, Mr. Brown, Sara Shanksy, Admiral Sound, King Amy, Tex Offenders, and others. His style bridges the gap between tin-pan-alley jazz, folk, roots rock, and punk, and he performs both on piano and guitar. His music tackles the triumphs and trials of everyday life, including our current political climate, but even the serious material is often given some levity with a healthy dose of gallows humor. "You can dip in just about anywhere with Rich Restaino’s catalogue and find yourself a real gem," said Dennis Pilon from Poprock Record. This show will see Rich performing songs from his 2025 solo piano retrospective, "88s and Heartaches," which can be streamed here: https://richrestaino.bandcamp.com/album/88s-and-heartaches-a-solo-piano-retrospective
