About Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
The Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts sits on the University of Sussex campus and is a striking example of 1960s modernist architecture, designed by Sir Basil Spence.
Originally opened in 1969, the Grade II* listed building has been carefully refurbished to support contemporary performance and creative activity, while retaining its distinctive circular design and architectural character.
The more recent renovation work by RH Partnership has won multiple awards and was shortlisted for a RIBA Regional Award.
Today, it’s a vibrant cultural venue that brings together artists, audiences and ideas in a truly unique setting.
