Join me for an after-lunch walk to write the Chinese character for "LOVE" in cursive calligraphy style in the town center of Ruthin, and you will receive a copy of our walking trace on the map of Ruthin.
I am looking for a grandpa or grandma who would like to take his/her grandchild (7+) for an after-lunch walk with me in the city center of Ruthin.
We will departure from St. Peter Church and arrive at the Ruthin Library. The trails of our walk will become the Chinese character for ’LOVE’ in cursive calligraphy style.
I picked out this cursive calligraphy from a very famous Chinese painter, calligrapher Zhao Mengfu (1254-1322).
We three will start the walk, hand in hand, taking turn to sing children’s songs from our memory and our culture.
The walk is estimated to last about 20 minutes. This is a performance open for encountering, anyone can join us or leave at any moment.
We three will be the team to complete the performance, which I name it ’Walk Through Love’. During the walk, we take short breaks when necessary. Most part of the walk is in the street and public space, some part of the walk is to go through certain indoor space which we will arrange in advance, to get permission from the owners to pass through.
I hope this is a performance will become a way for us to connect with each other, to walk through space and place of Ruthin with love.
Please contribute some children’s songs from your memory. The outcome of the walk is a map with our trace as prints.
