About this Event
BES Rewilding SIG PhD Networking Event 5th-6th May @ Edinburgh Napier University:
A two day in-person networking event dedicated to presenting and sharing research between PhD students. Run by the BES Rewilding SIG, we will have a day of talks from PhD Students on the 5th of May at Edinburgh Napier University, as well as some talks from external guest speakers with a mix of research and practitioner experience in rewilding. We will then finish with a social event in the evening. PhD students will have the option to present their research in either flash talks (5 minutes) or longer standard talk times (12 minutes). The talks can be structured as people like and presenting research background without results, future plans or incomplete results is completely fine! The idea is this a relaxed and supportive environment to share your research with peers.
On the following day, we have arranged for a guided tour around Carrifran Wildwood, a site managed by the Borders Forest Trust in the South of Scotland (https://bordersforesttrust.org/wild-heart/carrifran-wildwood). This will be a full day excursion with the option for a longer trek through the Scottish Uplands (a shorter route will also be available). Transport to and from the site from Edinburgh is included in the conference ticket.
Food and drink will be provided across both days. There is the option to buy tickets for just the in-person networking event (Conference only ticket) or for both the networking event and the field trip (Conference + Field Trip Ticket).
