Come out to the Lexington County Museum to learn about the Founding Father Henry Laurens. Lunch will be provided.This program, presented by Annette Guild of the South Carolina Historical Society, explores the life and legacy of Henry Laurens through his extensive personal, political, and business correspondence held by the SC Historical Society. Participants will learn about Laurens' rise from Charleston merchant to prominent Revolutionary leader, examine key moments documented in his letters, and consider his complex role in the founding of the nation. The program will also highlight current digitization efforts that are expanding public access to these important historical records and bringing Laurens' story to new audience. This program is presented in conjunction with the SC Historical Society and the SC Sestercennial Commission.This is a free event but registration is required and donations are accepted.
