About this Event
Roxanne Kelly
Born and raised in London to Irish and Costa Rican parents, Roxanne Kelly was exposed to a range of music from an early age. As an only child with no extended family in the country, Roxanne felt lonely and lacked a full sense of cultural identity. Roxanne overcame difficult obstacles within her youth by expressing her words and feelings through her lyrics. Her songwriting allowed her to be completely vulnerable and honest with herself.
Roxanne Kelly is an accomplished musician holding a Merit Masters in Music Performance from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and a First-Class BA (Honours) in Music from The University of Nottingham. In 2010, at the age of 15, after competing in a talent contest, Roxanne won the Charlotte Coleman Scholarship Award.
Having been involved in many musical groups, Roxanne has performed in notable UK and European venues, such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Barcelona Cathedral and the RADA Theatre.
As a singer-songwriter, Roxanne has performed in popular London venues: Gigi’s London (formerly known as Zigfrid von Underbelly in Hoxton Square), The Islington, Acklam Village Market, The Lucky Pig and headlined The Spice of Life in Soho.
Donavon King
Donavon King is a singer, songwriter and performer that is fearless and unapologetic in his goal to not only create art that can be fun and expressive but also deliver a show that will have the audience energised, dancing and cheering for more.
Born and raised in East London, King was raised on a music diet of a multitude of genres such as Reggae, Rocksteady, R&B, Soul and Funk. As he grew, he continued to explore music genres and now doesn’t put any boundaries on where his music can go, feeling that the funniest part about being a pop artist is the freedom to experiment.
Taking on his first performance at the age of 5, Donavon always brings high energy and entertainment to the stage. Fiery vocals, commanding stage presence and sharp moves all backed by danceable rhythms. A show by Donavon King is one to not be missed.
Whether it be a song based on true events or a fantasy, Donavon King lets his art run free with the same passion and conviction.
