About this Event
Come reset for the final push of the week. Expect to sweat a little and end with a sense of completion, ready for the rest of the day. Each class will be grounded in a concept from the 8 limbs of Yoga. We will start with a brief meditation, Pranayama or breathing practice and traditional Sun Salutation sequences. Then we will move into an intentionally sequined series of poses meant to both invigorate and ground you. Throughout class I will offer modifications to help support all levels of students.
Bio:
Malika Rubin-Davis grew up in small towns in Sonoma County, California. She loved helping in the garden, exploring the outdoors and creating arts and crafts. She earned a BA in Visual Art from Brown University in 2008, then deepened her knowledge of earth based skills and had a brief career as an educator in Oakland Public Schools. Malika chose to step away from the stresses of classroom teaching to make room for her artistic creativity and to find other ways to hold space for learning and connection. She teaches workshops in watercolor painting, spinning and knitting. Malika completed a 200 hour Yoga Veda Vinyasa Teacher Training with Kameko Shibata and Kanami Anderson. This training reminded Malika how supportive the full system, the 8 limbs of yoga, can be. She finds joy in sharing and strives to create a safe, nourishing environment in her asana classes by weaving in Meditation, Pranayama and concepts from anatomy and the Yoga Sutras.
