*QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR PROPERTY RATES REBATE*
*PENSIONERS*
* Must be 60 years or older
* Must provide a certified copy of a South African bar-coded ID
* Must be the registered owner of the primary residential property (includes spouses married to each other, or property owned solely by either spouse)
* In cases of joint ownership, all owners must meet the qualifying criteria
* Must reside permanently on the property
* Property value must not exceed R2.5 million
* If owned by a Trust, the Trustee must meet all qualifying criteria (Copy of Title Deed required)
* Executors / Administrators of Deceased Estates, Liquidators and Trustees of Insolvent Estates are Excluded
*DISABILITY GRANTEES / MEDICALLY BOARDED PERSONS*
Disability Grantees:
* Letter from the Department of Social Welfare confirming receipt of a disability grant
OR
* Letter from a specialist medical practitioner confirming disability and inability to work
Medically Boarded Persons:
* Letter from the relevant employer or underwriter confirming medical boarding
*ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*
* South African bar-coded ID
* Must reside permanently on the primary property
* Must be the registered owner of the primary property (includes spouses as above)
* Water, electricity, and rates accounts must be consolidated into the applicant’s name
* If owned by a Trust, the Trustee must meet all qualifying criteria (Copy of Title Deed required)
* Executors / Administrators of Deceased Estates, Liquidators, Trustees of Insolvent Estates and Temporary Disability Grantees are Excluded

* Most recent Municipal Utilities Bill
* Rebate forms (optional – blank forms will also be available at the venue)
*ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE*

* Certify / commission supporting documentatio
* Assist residents wishing to apply for Indigent Support
* Assist residents who wish to check or update their registration details with the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)
