About this Event
Remembrance is a contemporary dance piece that debuted on April 27th, 2025. This piece was a part of The Sanctuary Project founded by Azeb M. Freitas and Eskedar Girmash. The Sanctuary Project was a series of grief processing workshops centered in somatic healing practices and art therapy facilitated by the founders in order to raise funds to produce the dance poetry piece Remembrance. Remembrance written by Eskedar Girmash and choreographed by Azeb M. Freitas is a piece that reflects the overwhelming experience that is processing grief.
Azeb will be teaching the choreography of the piece to immerse participants in the experience that is dancing to the poem Remembrance. She welcomes you to embody the energy of the poem through movement. All levels are encouraged to attend. No dance experience is required.
