Bringing together key people, employers, leaders, and decision-makers from across the county to change the narrative about gender and work.
Get Dorset and BCP Working, Women in Tech Dorset, and Dorset Women CIC are hosting a Stakeholder Workshop to consider gender and work in Dorset and collaborate to tackle the inequalities that particularly affect women and girls.
FACT: When people face systemic barriers in education, training, work opportunities and leadership because of their gender, we all lose.
The gender pay gap, stereotypical roles and education, and unbalanced representation on boards and leadership, are not just "women’s issues"- they create an economic and social challenge that affects every school and college, every board, every business, and every community across Dorset.
Our ambition is to make Dorset the best place to live and work - a place where people of every gender drive innovation, thrive in their communities, and enjoy equal opportunities to work, progress, and lead.
This workshop kick-starts that intention, bringing key people together to find solutions that break down the barriers that prevent anyone from finding and staying in work because of their gender. Especially women and girls.

We are looking for:
🔸 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀: who have lived experience with gendered barriers to work.
🔸 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀: struggling to diversify their workforce or attract talent into non-traditional roles.
🔸 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 & 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: shaping the future of employment in our region.
🔸 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲: Men are essential partners in this conversation because when leadership and workforces lack balance, innovation suffers. Excluding gender diverse voices entrenches inequality. Dorset needs your perspective and your contribution - to build a place where EVERYONE has an equal shot at good work and fair pay.
