About this Event

In our two-hour workshop, we will be exploring themes of supporting ourselves through transitions. We will be invited into meditation and Restorative Yoga poses that will be accompanied by acupuncture at the final 30 minutes. Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that involves the use of props and holding postures for an extended period of time. This practice invites nourishment to the nervous system with a calming and warm environment. This offering is open to everyone. Beginners to either Restorative Yoga or acupuncture are welcome.

Dominique (she, her) is a Bay Area native, dedicated to transforming trauma and violence into opportunities for freedom. For the past decade, she has been honored to learn & share tools for reconnection. Her former work as a Healing Justice Program Director at Community United Against Violence supported queer and Trans survivors of intimate partner violence, hate violence, and police violence through direct service and organizing. Currently, she teaches Restorative Yoga and facilitates somatic healing workshops through Reclaiming Our Own Transcendence (ROOT) www.wetakeroot.com/healing-cycles-of-harm. Her relationship witho the spirit and the natural world guides her life. As the founder of the Black Seeds Project, she provides group sessions in ritual with nature. Through these offerings, she weaves her studies in liberatory movements, psychology, ecotherapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed yoga to explore the barriers to optimal health. Each program invites attunement to the seasonal changes and wisdom of the time. Visit linktr.ee/blackseedsproject1 to see her upcoming offerings.
