What we’re about
We hope you'll join us and sing with Sound & Shadow Collective. Don't worry, it's not really “singing”, just hum, tone, om, or hold vowel sounds over a drone instrument while envisioning the harmony we desire to see in the world.
S&SC hosts live-stream meditations which we post on YouTube, Instagram, and tiktok as well as in-person group meditations and sound baths. Our in-person and live-stream events are posted on Facebook and Meetup. * Our in-person events are currently only in Portland, Oregon, but we're working on expanding world-wide! Reach out if you would like to host in your area!
Our mission is to encourage at least 13% of the population to sing from their heart while holding a vision of harmony for all, with the belief that if we sing in harmony together, we'll stop killing and hurting each other. We call this Songs of Anahata. *Anahata is the Sanskrit word for the heart chakra. It also means unstruck or unhurt. We are mending all broken hearts. 💚
To be a member, all you have to do is sing Songs of Anahata and repeat this oath as often as possible:

By this symbolic gesture [prayer hands at heart] we cleanse ourselves of resentment, critical emotions toward ourselves and others, self-condemnation, and the habit of assuming the worst about any situation or being. We accept that we create our own circumstances -- consciously and unconsciously -- and we choose to see every situation and being as a mirror and lesson for our personal evolution toward unified, loving community for the betterment of all and the planet. So it is!"
