Join the Cerebral Palsy Center for a special resilience-focused event, Resilient Together, featuring speaker and coach Kris Burbank on Wednesday, June 10th in Sabin Auditorium on Main Campus at Cincinnati Children’s. Registration begins at 10:30am, with the program running from 11:00am to 1:00pm.Parenting a child with disabilities brings profound love and purpose — along with emotional, physical, and mental demands that can quietly deplete even the most devoted caregivers. Sustaining ourselves is not a luxury; it is essential to sustaining the care we give.
In Resilient Together: Reclaiming Caregiver Energy & Strength, certified coach, author, and proud mother Kris Burbank will guide participants through an engaging, highly interactive workshop designed to restore perspective, reconnect with inner resources, and expand capacity for long-term resilience. Drawing from personal experience, current research, and insights from her book Embracing Another Normal: Resilience Stories and Strategies for Raising Children with Disabilities, the session will combine storytelling, reflection, and practical exercises that can be immediately applied in daily life.
This event is designed for parents, caregivers, family members, and support systems of children with cerebral palsy. Members of the Cincinnati Children’s care team will also be present as participants and learners, creating a shared space to better understand and support the caregiver experience.
Please note that this session is intended for adults only. We ask that children do not attend so we can create space for open conversation and reflection. Additional event details will be emailed prior to the event.
