About this Event
“We believe that trade policy offers a practical solution to address the climate crisis.” - a conclusion of the Citizens' Assembly on Trade and Climate
We welcome you to join the launch of the report of the Citizens’ Assembly on Trade and Climate, hosted by the Trade Justice Movement and Queen Mary University London.
The Citizens’ Assembly - which took place in June 2024 - brought together 59 UK citizens for over 35 hours to discuss how the UK should address climate change through trade policies. Assembly members were selected to be demographically representative of the broader population, and their detailed and considered recommendations offer vital insights for policymakers.
Additionally, this project showed that the public can play a constructive role in policy formation, even in areas as complex as trade and climate.
Join us to hear from the Assembly's organisers and participants, and learn from their findings on this urgent issue.
