Join artist and educator Stella Lange from Otago Polytechnic for a hands-on repair and mending session inspired by the exhibition Boro – Timeworn Textiles of Japan. Participants will be guided through a range of simple and accessible mending techniques, including patching, stitching, and strengthening worn fabrics. You will be encouraged to experiment with texture, colour, and form to transform damaged textiles into something both functional and beautiful.
This is a beginner's workshop suitable for all skill levels. All materials will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring along a small garment or textile item in need of repair.
Come along to learn new skills and share ideas in a supportive and creative space. Attendees are encouraged to view the exhibition for inspiration before or after the session.
