About this Event
The Renters' Rights Act represents one of the biggest changes to the private rented sector in decades, introducing new rules around tenancy structures, rent increases, possession rights and landlord compliance.
This short evening information session is designed to help private landlords understand what the changes mean in practice and how to prepare for the upcoming reforms.
Hosted by the lettings team at JDG Estate Agents, we’ll provide a clear overview of the government’s implementation timeline and explain the key changes expected to affect landlords from 2026 onwards.
This session will focus specifically on private residential lettings and is particularly useful for self-managing landlords who want to better understand how the legislation may affect their property and responsibilities.
The session will cover:
• The government’s timeline for implementing the Renters Rights Act
• The abolition of Section 21 and changes to possession rights
• The move to periodic tenancies
• New rules around rent increases and tenancy management
• Upcoming landlord compliance requirements
The presentation will last around 30 minutes, followed by an open Q&A session where landlords can ask questions.
If you have any questions in advance, please email them to [email protected]
Refreshments will be available!
Please note:
- This session is aimed at private residential landlords and will not cover student lets, HMOs, or purpose-built student accommodation.
- Whilst this is a free session, please do book a ticket so we can ensure the venue is set up for the right number of people.
