Luckily for us, Lewis Barfoot is travelling from Ireland to make her Lancaster debut as part of her tour - and she’s popping in to share her distinctive sound with us! Lewis is a London-Irish singer, songwriter, musician and contemporary folk artist based in Cork. https://gregson.co.uk/event/lewis-barfoot/
Her music is rooted in folk traditions yet guided by a distinctly personal voice, her songs are shaped by fingerpicked guitar, “Vocals that melt the hearts of angels” (KLOF), and beautifully profound — often playful — lyricism that enraptures audiences with its authenticity. She has released two studio albums, Glenaphuca (2021) and HOME (2023), both of which received strong support across BBC Radio, RTÉ Radio 1, Folk Radio UK and RTÉ na Gaeltachta.
In the morning she will be running a playful and inclusive singing workshop open to all levels.
’The delightful sound of a musician who is both an accomplished composer of original material and also a torchbearer keeping alive traditional styles and song’ — KLOF
“An arrestingly good vocalist and songwriter” — John O’Regan, Living Tradition
“A balm for the soul” - Lillian Smith, RTÉ Radio 1
