All Aboard the Rennie Rider!Hear ye, hear ye! The Austin Steam Train Association invites you to step back aboard our second annual Rennie Rider! This Renaissance Fair–themed train ride journey filled with merriment, mead, and medieval fun, combines the magic of the faire with the charm of vintage railroading. Guests are encouraged to don their finest garb—whether you fancy yourself a noble, a jester, or a traveler from distant lands. To keep the merriment alive, a lively bard will roam the train, sharing jokes and limericks, while a skilled violinist fills railcars with enchanting music for all to enjoy.
This 3-hour adventure follows our Bertram Flyer route, beginning at the Cedar Park Depot and traveling through the Texas Hill Country. Along the way, you’ll cross Short Creek Canyon, roll across the 300-foot-long wooden trestle bridge over the South San Gabriel River. Your travels take place aboard beautifully restored vintage railcars from the 1930s–1950s, pulled by a historic diesel locomotive.

Adults 21+ can enjoy a selection of beer, wine, and mead, available for purchase onboard in our Cedar Park Car. Whether you’re a noble knight, a merry minstrel, or simply a traveler seeking adventure, there’s no better way to toast the day than with a goblet of mead!
Schedule:
- Doors open: 6:00 PM (please arrive 1 hour before departure)
- Boarding: 6:15–6:40 PM (train cannot wait for late arrivals)
- Departure: 7:00 PM
- Return: 10:00 PM
