As part of the upcoming display, Tadaima: Bringing Seattle’s Boys’ and Girls’ Day Dolls Home, Vashon artist Miya Sukune will show you how to create felt flowers that will be part of a hanachozu-inspired display. Hanachozu are floral displays seen at Japanese temples and this display will be a community offering, opening February 14, 2026, ahead of Day of Remembrance (February 19, 2026), honoring the Japanese Americans affected by the World War II incarceration.
Attending this workshop does not include access to the galleries. To see all that MOHAI has to offer, you can purchase admission upon arrival or purchase admission online.
Support for this program is provided by the Hugh and Jane Ferguson Foundation.
