Spend the day designing and printing your own vintage-inspired seed packet artwork in this immersive linocut workshop.

We’ll begin by looking at historic seed packet illustrations — including imagery from Rockford-area seed companies — and explore the bold graphics, lettering, and layouts that made these small prints so enduring and collectible.

Participants will then design their own original “seed packet,” translating their ideas into a carved linoleum block. Once carved, you’ll learn how to ink and hand-print your design, creating a small edition of prints on high-quality printmaking paper.

This workshop focuses on both design and traditional relief printmaking techniques, making it ideal for beginners and those looking to deepen their skills.

Participants will leave with:

• an original carved linocut block

• a small edition of hand-printed seed packet designs

• a deeper understanding of linocut and print composition

All materials are provided. No prior experience is necessary.
