Zion Lutheran Church is leading our first ever Civil Rights Conference called “We The People” Conference with Mark Charles and the Common Memory Tour. This conference will be held on April 18, 2026 at Patriots Gateway Center, located at 615 S. Fifth Street in Rockford, IL. This conference will be an opportunity to acknowledge our common history and find ways to build a just and equitable community.
This event will feature keynote talks by Mark Charles and then workshops to discuss the history of Native Americans, racism, immigration, affordable housing, education, economics and health. Mark Charles is a well known speaker, writer, and consultant. Please see the attached letter for more information about our speaker.
We are inviting non-profits, businesses, agencies and community leaders to consider being a sponsor and/or partner for the event. The event registration will cost $25 per/person and space is limited. Registration information is available in the link below.
