Relational Therapy with Non-Monogamous and Polyamorous Clients

Welcome to our online event focused on providing therapists with the tools and insights needed to support non-monogamous and polyamorous clients in their practice. Join us for a deep dive into the unique challenges and opportunities that arise when working with individuals in non-traditional relationship structures. Don't miss this valuable opportunity to expand your therapeutic skills and better serve a diverse range of clients.

Subject: This collaborative and interactive workshop explores the topics of consensual/ethical non-monogamy and polyamory by offering frameworks and practice strategies to mental health and wellness providers that are essential to provide affirming care to partners in relationship counseling who engage in the aforementioned relationship structures.

Course Description: This course is geared toward any and all mental health or medical professionals seeking to gain greater competencies with creating, maintaining and practicing skills to become a more equitable and inclusive provider to people who practice consensual and/or ethical non-monogamy and/or polyamory. This course provides distinctions between the aforementioned concepts and how they are practiced, introduces a wealth of terms to become familiar with when working with clients who practice non-monogamy, and a helpful framework for working with more than two clients in relationship counseling (both virtually and in person). This course assists participants with helpful strategies to practice and obtain affirming language to utilize when working with non-monogamous and polyamorous clients. This course provides reflective questions and case examples that aim to assist participants with identifying areas that may create barriers and challenges for working with or maintaining relationships with non-monogamous and polyamorous clients.

You will also be eligible to earn 3.0 Continuing Education Credits if you hold a New York State License as an LMHC, LCSW, LMSW, LCAT, LMFT or Psychologist.
