Brian David Dennis
“Vista” is a reactive, site-specific assemblage. Unlike previous installations, this work is more spontaneous. I won’t be working from detailed plans. Instead, I have piles of materials, a head full of notions, and references to pull from.
The work will begin vaguely as a rendered landscape. The composition will be built primarily of oxidized gilt corrugation with the addition of other elements.
I’m stepping into the project heavily attracted to the wide open, southwestern landscapes. I will also use techniques influenced by Picturesque Romantic Landscapes. It’s intended to celebrate nature unspoiled by us, the alpha creature cluttering our world with waste.
