#OptOutside with Golden Bricks Events and Braided Seeds this Black Friday! Let's meet up, explore and learn more about the land, and be in community with one another.
Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective, a Native Arts center that combines access to greenspace and cultural connection.
Our #OptOutside Meetup is the perfect opportunity to escape the holiday grind and immerse yourself in nature. Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or just looking for a breath of fresh air, this event is for you.
Yəhaw̓ is a Lushootseed word. It comes from a beautiful story of lifting up the sky together, of using that word to synchronize movements, and be able to achieve something that no single person could do alone. - Asia Tail, Executive Director of yəhaw Indigenous Creatives Collective
In 2019, yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective purchased a 1.5 acre parcel of land in South Seattle, and in 2024 they also purchased a neighboring house that now serves as a community gathering space. yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective has been hard at work reclaiming this beautiful greenscape while creating a fostering environment for Native artists and the community at large.
November's Refuge Day will explore yəhaw̓'s land reclamation, and how their work and the land can inspire, create, and nurture community.
Braided Seeds will kick off the event with a welcome and grounding.
yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective will follow with a tour of the land.
Don't miss out on the hot chocolate & s'mores station and our gear giveaway.
