Join us for Red Resilience, a community market held in honour of Red Dress Day (May 5) and Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+).Red Dress Day brings national attention to the ongoing crisis of violence against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQ+ people in Canada. Indigenous women and girls continue to experience disproportionately high rates of violence, and families and communities across the country are still seeking justice, truth, and accountability.
Red Resilience is a space of remembrance, awareness, and strength. While we acknowledge the painful realities connected to MMIWG2S+, we also centre the resilience, leadership, and enduring strength of Indigenous communities.
This market will feature Indigenous and local small businesses, artists, and makers. By supporting small businesses — particularly Indigenous entrepreneurs — we affirm that economic empowerment, visibility, and community care are acts of resilience.
We invite Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members to stand together in solidarity, shared responsibility, and collective care.
Come shop local.
Come learn.
Come honour.
Come stand in red.
