Tensegrity is a building method where an object is made up of multiple components in compression (squeezed together) and held together by cables under tension. Participants will build a mini floating table while learning the strengths and weaknesses of an object built on tensegrity principles. At the end of the workshop, they will be able to take their “floating” table home and wow their family and friends with their knowledge and building skills. Red Deer Polytechnic`s Red Hot Science youth outreach program is pleased to offer technology, coding, and robotics workshops. These 1-1.5 hour workshops introduce youth to fun, hands-on tech with real-world applications in industries including agriculture. Red Hot Science is a proud network member of Actua, and is thankful to provide these workshops with their support. These workshops are part of the CanCode program made possible through funding from the Government of Canada.
This program is for kids 10-14 years of age. Space is limited and there must be at least 4 registrants to run the program. Please email [email protected] to register by March 24.
