A specialised physical active programme designed to support individuals recovering / recovered from cancer
About this Event

A 8-Week Low-Intensity Physical Activity Programme for Individuals Recovering / Recovered from Cancer.

This specialised physical activity programme is designed to support individuals recovering or recovered from cancer. With a strong focus on gentle movement, pain management, and holistic recovery, the sessions are tailored to accommodate varying levels of fitness, energy, and mobility.

Key Features:

  • Low-Impact, Joint-Friendly Exercises: All movements are performed in our studio and pool, providing natural resistance to support strength-building and flexibility.
  • Gentle Cardiovascular Activity: Exercises are performed at a low intensity to promote circulation, improve endurance, and support heart health without placing undue stress on the body.
  • Lymphatic Support: Movements are specifically chosen to encourage lymphatic drainage, which is especially beneficial for those recovering from lymph node removal or experiencing lymphedema following cancer treatment.
  • Pain-Aware Programming: All exercises are adaptable to accommodate pain levels and individual limitations. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, with modifications available throughout the session.
  • Mind-Body Connection: Breathing techniques and relaxation elements are incorporated to reduce stress and promote a sense of wellbeing—an essential part of recovery from cancer.
  • Supportive Environment: Sessions are led by trained instructors who understand the unique challenges faced by cancer survivors. The atmosphere is inclusive, respectful, and empowering.

Who This Programme Is For:

  • Individuals in recovery or have recovered following cancer surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation
  • Those seeking a safe, supportive, and restorative form of exercise

This programme prioritises healing, mobility, and self-compassion, recognising that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Participants are supported every step of the way to reconnect with their bodies and build strength, confidence, and resilience—one gentle movement at a time.

If you have any queries on the programme, please contact Denise by e-mail [email protected] or call 087 966 9634.
