We are getting ready for Record Store Day, are you? The date is Saturday April 18th and we open at 8am. If you are new to this event, let me first welcome you to the annual phenomenon celebrated by record collectors worldwide known as RSD. The day starts with the release of indie-exclusive titles that are limited and only available at participating independent record stores. The line forms early for “must have” items on collector’s lists because the model is first come, first served on these RSD titles. If there are particular items you want and enjoy the thrill of the hunt come early! However many collectors choose to celebrate Record Store Day mid morning or after brunch. The party goes all day and we will have massive inventory of Horizon curated new and used titles because this is our biggest day of the year and we love to blow it out!New for this year, we will be opening the Annex from 2pm to 5pm on Record Store Day. The Annex is the building right next to Horizon Records and is our makeshift warehouse of recent acquisitions of used records. Most of which have yet to be priced so if you find a stack of records you want, take them to Chuck or Justin who will give you pricing on the spot. Besides the pop-up shopping model, the Annex is also home to local music history and a massive Macintosh stereo for your listening pleasure.
