About this Event

Do you find it difficult to think of things to be grateful for?

Have you always wanted to have a go at Grounding?

Are you too embarrassed to hug a tree on your own?

Join me on my Reconnect with Nature Sessions and we’ll do it together.

Springvale Community Garden in Penistone on Wednesday 10th July 10am-11am. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session start time.

During the hour we will awaken our senses, practice gratitude, have a go at grounding and take part in a focused sensory activity.

Awaken your Senses - Connecting with nature through our senses is a deeply enriching experience that allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty and wonder of the natural world. By engaging our senses of sight, sound, touch, smell, and even taste, we can cultivate a profound connection to our environment and foster a sense of presence and mindfulness.

Gratitude Practice - A powerful tool for enhancing mental and emotional well-being. It involves consciously acknowledging and appreciating the positive aspects of our lives, from the small daily joys to the significant achievements and relationships. By regularly reflecting on what we are thankful for, we shift our focus away from what we lack, towards what we have, fostering a sense of contentment and fulfillment. This mindful acknowledgment of the present moment and our surroundings not only enhances our mood but also promotes a deeper sense of connection to the world and to ourselves.

Sensory focused activity - This may involve creating a Sound Map, Sketching, Creating images out of nature and more...

Grounding, also known as earthing - Offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. This practice involves reconnecting with the Earth's energy by walking barefoot on natural surfaces. By doing so, we absorb electrons from the Earth, which can neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation in the body. Physiologically, grounding has been linked to improved circulation, better sleep, reduced pain, and lowered stress levels. Beyond its physical benefits, grounding also has profound psychological effects. It promotes a sense of calmness, relaxation, and mental clarity, helping to alleviate anxiety, depression, and feelings of disconnection. In the context of a woodland wellbeing session, grounding allows participants to literally and figuratively reconnect with nature, fostering a deeper appreciation for the Earth's healing properties and our interconnectedness with the natural world.
