Interventions to reduce stress
Speaker: Dr Cristian Vasquez
This session will explore workplace interventions to reduce employee stress and enhance overall wellbeing. We’ll focus on the IGLO model for implementing and evaluating wellbeing initiatives and its value in addressing individuals, groups, leaders and the entire organisation.
During the session, our speaker will:
- Share current research on wellbeing interventions
- Discuss the main challenges to implementing these initiatives
- Explore the facilitators and resources to support the process
- Provide tips for effective implementation and evaluation.
The session includes an interactive discussion where participants can share their experiences and insights on the topic, followed by a Q&A.
Interventions to reduce bullying/cyberbullying
Speaker: Dr Sam Farley
Cyberbullying involves harassment through work-related technology and has become more prominent with the increase in remote work since the COVID pandemic. In this session, our speaker will discuss key research findings on when and why cyberbullying occurs. This will be followed by an interactive session on how HR professionals can prevent cyberbullying within and outside their organisation. Key takeaways will include:
- Understanding the causes of cyberbullying/cyber mistreatment
- Effective prevention of cyber mistreatment
- Supporting affected colleagues.

Dr Vasquez, Lecturer in Leadership at the Institute of Work Psychology, Sheffield University Management School, specialises in the process evaluation of wellbeing interventions across individual, group, leader, and organisational levels. With a keen interest in the interplay of emotions in leadership and teamwork, he offers valuable insights into fostering healthier and more productive work environments.

Dr Farley is a Senior Lecturer in Work Psychology at the Institute of Work Psychology, Sheffield University Management School. He is particularly interested in the Dark Side of workplace behaviour, including bullying, cyberbullying and incivility. Within this field, his interests include the measurement of bullying, perpetrators of bullying and methods of preventing and addressing bullying in organisational life.
