About this Event
RECLAIM Sunday, January 11, Bandaloop, West Oakland
We're back after a break for the holiday! Let's dance, connect, ground, and find a little bit of joy in this chaotic world. RECLAIM is a daytime dance party for people who are BIPOC, Queer, or both!
🎶 The Music
Coflo brings a dancer’s soul to the heart of house music. A lifelong practitioner of American house dance and the Afro-Brazilian martial art Capoeira, he infuses his music with the rhythm, energy, and movement of these traditions. Born and raised in the
vibrant Bay Area house scene, Coflo is dedicated to honoring the rich culture and community that shaped him while pushing the boundaries of club music.
With a decade of hits on prestigious labels like T’s Box, Local Talk, and Atjazz Record Company, Coflo is a studio innovator and a dynamic force behind the decks. His DJ sets are as eclectic and energetic as his productions, offering a unique perspective shaped by his dancer’s instincts. Coflo continues to evolve, crafting fresh sounds that honor his roots while pushing house music into exciting new territory.
🌀 Our Community
RECLAIM is about creating a vibrant space where bipoc and queer folks can come together, connect, and vibe as one community. Our goal? To build bridges and unite, so we can dance our way into the future we’ve been dreaming of.
We’re calling all BIPOC folks—whether you’re Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color—to join us on the dance floor. And we’re calling all QUEER folks—gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, questioning, gender-nonconforming, or however you proudly define your queerness.
To be clear: if you’re white and queer, come on down! If you’re brown and straight, we want you too! The only thing we ask is that you bring your best self and be ready to groove.
Our Vision
RECLAIM envisions a world where bipoc and queer people are moving towards liberation together. We center the Black, the Brown, and Queer because now, more than ever, we need fresh visions to create a thriving world for all—regardless of who we love, how we identify, or the melanin in our skin.
Our mission is to unite BIPOC and Queer dancers through communal movement, self-expression, and meaningful exchange. By dancing together, we empower ourselves to build deeper connections, find courage, and co-create a more just and compassionate world.
RECLAIM stands in solidarity with Black, Brown, Queer, Indigenous, Palestinian, Congolese, Sudanese and all people resisting oppressive systems.
