Is it something that some of us are particular sensitive too and prone to "undeserved DCS".
Prof David Doolette will talk on the epidemiology (what does the "hard data" on DCS counts tell us) and what do the measurements of venous gas emboli (VGE, "silent bubbles") suggest.
After this talk Jan Risberg, Diving physician at NUI and consultant at Haukeland University Hospital, will talk on some of the suggested individual risk factors:
- Overweight
- Age
- Physical fitness
- Sex.
Which of these are evidence-based risk factors and which are urban myths?
We will be ordering food and drinks, and are sure to have talking points after the presentation.
