Rebel Book Club Manchester x Ultra-Processed People Join us for September's event where we'll explore how shifts in culture, climate, and technology are transforming what and how we eat.
About this Event

Welcome to the RBC Manchester event, where we'll be diving into a theme that affects us all: "Let’s Eat: How a Changing World is Impacting Our Diets."

From food sustainability to the latest culinary trends, we'll explore how shifts in culture, climate, and technology are transforming what and how we eat.

September's book is , "a devastating, witty and scholarly destruction of the shit food we eat and why” - Adam Rutherford, British geneticist and science populariser.

Inspired by our monthly non-fiction reads, our mix of part cocktail party, part creative classroom is a recipe that builds your reading habit while connecting with like minded people.

Delicious drinks are included, as well as engaging storytelling and space for conversations and sharing your own journeys across countries and continents.

Interested? Want to join us at our September event?

Try out the club with Eventbrite - new customers only. Ticket price includes access to the Manchester Rebel Book Club event plus a welcome drink (alcoholic + non-alcoholic options available).

About

We have entered a new 'age of eating' where most of our calories come from an entirely novel set of substances called Ultra-Processed Food, industrially processed and designed and marketed to be addictive.

Join Chris in his travels through the world of food science and a UPF diet to discover what's really going on. Find out why exercise and willpower can't save us, and what UPF is really doing to our bodies, our health, our weight, and the planet. For too long we've been told we just need to make different choices, when really we're living in a food environment that makes it nigh-on impossible. So this is a book about our rights to know what we eat and what it does to our bodies.
