Reaxenia is an allegory that uses the idea of a workshop as a space to fix the country. Using physical theatre techniques, the play becomes a satirical viewpoint on politics in a country where the attempt to solve an issue leads to the next. Through journalism and iconic political figures, the dynamic world explores the duality of hunger as the absence of food and, the hunger for truth. At the eve of the release of a groundbreaking newspaper article, the play ultimately grapples with the impact of words, and how they can either build or destroy a nation.Part of the NEXT DRAFT programme at the Joburg Theatre Space.com - presented in partnership with Joburg Theatre Youth Development.
