About this Event

This event is designed for income eligible ($69,000 or less annually) residents and families.

Community members are invited to receive no‑cost tax guidance and preparation from qualified volunteers who are ready to help you navigate this year’s filing with confidence.

Language access services will be available on-site.

To ensure a smooth and efficient process, taxpayers are encouraged to bring the following:

  • A copy of last year’s tax return (if available)
  • Proof of identity (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security cards for themselves, their spouse, and dependents
  • All relevant income forms such as W-2, 1099, SSA-1099, 1099-R, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1099-K, 1099-C, 1099-S, 1099-G etc.
1098-T (Tuition Statement) and 1098-E (Student Loan Interest) for students
  • Information on other sources of income
  • Child care provider information, including identification number (if claiming child care credit)
  • Documentation for deductions or credits
  • If someone purchases a new, qualifying vehicle in 2025, they should bring the vehicle details such as the VIN, the purchase date in 2025, and the statement showing the interest paid during 2025.
  • Receipts or evidence of charitable donations and medical expenses (if applicable).
Records of out-of-pocket medical expenses, if applicable
  • DC residents can claim mortgage interest and renters can claim rent paid throughout the year on unsubsidized apartments for the period of 2025. They will need to provide information such as the landlord's full name, address, phone number, and the amount paid in rent monthly.
  • Medicaid health insurance enrollees should come with insurance IDs, as they are not required to provide a 1095-A form. However, taxpayers who purchased health insurance through the marketplace are required to provide Form 1095-A
  • Bank details for direct deposit of refunds (bank name, account number, and routing number)
