About this Event
Drawing on real case material, participants examine how meaning is extracted from emergency calls, written documents and behavioural patterns. A 999 call; written evidence, such as ransom notes and wills; and an overview of certain forensic disciplines will all be covered in this exciting session, which is part of Remake Doncaster 'Learning for Life Week'.
Cases such as Derek Bentley's and Michael Sams' are used to show how interpretation can shift outcomes, particularly when language is taken at face value or stripped of context.
The workshop provides a behind-the-scenes look at cases many people think they know, revealing the forensic tools and processes that shape how those cases are understood.
Suitable for anyone over 16 years of age. Booking is essential as places are limited.
