About this Event
Some crimes announce themselves loudly. Others are carefully choreographed to look like something they're not.
In this public edition of Battle of the Barristers, you are dropped into one of the most disturbing and divisive M**der cases of modern America: the conviction of Chris Coleman.
A mother and her two young sons are found dead in their home. The walls carry threatening messages. The scene suggests an outsider driven by hate. Yet almost immediately, the story begins to fray. Timelines fail to align. Digital evidence refuses to stay neutral. Behaviour that should reassure instead unsettles.
This is not a case you can approach emotionally, nor one you can solve with a single decisive fact. You will be asked to interrogate phone records, online behaviour, motive and opportunity. As part of either the prosecution or defence team, you will experience how difficult it is to dismantle a story once it has taken hold.
As part of Doncaster Remake’s Learning for Life week, this session goes beyond true crime curiosity. It sharpens your ability to question constructed narratives, assess evidence under pressure, and recognise how bias creeps into decision-making long before a verdict is reached.
You are not here to be told what happened. You are here to argue it, defend it, and persuade a courtroom that your version of events deserves belief.
Suitable for anyone over 16 years of age. Booking is essential as places are limited.
