re:Percussions, a Georgia State University and Community Music Centers of Atlanta Collaborative Project, is a collaborative concert project bringing together the Georgia State University School of Music, Georgia State Perimeter College, and the Community Music Centers of Atlanta (CMC) in a shared celebration of creativity, education, and community engagement. At the heart of the program is the world premiere of a new work for found percussion and wind ensemble by GSU alumnus Marcus Moore, performed by a combined wind ensemble of GSU and Perimeter College musicians alongside elementary-aged percussionists from CMC.
The project was envisioned and initiated by Emily Bridges, undergraduate music education major in the GSU School of Music, whose leadership and advocacy helped bring the partnership to life. The concert is supported through the collaboration and efforts of faculty and staff across institutions, including Dr. Julia Bullard, Dr. Brian Bonin, Professor Slava Prudchenko, Sunny Vidrine, and Diana Orozco, with coordination and support from the GSU School of Music team.
