Rat Alley Presents XUP / LUNA CULT CLUB / NIK COCKSHOTT. Tuesday 11th August at The Peer Hat, Manchester.
XUP is Lane on the Fender Mustang bass, vocals and the drums. Rooted in post-punk, dark-wave, new wave, and garage rock, XUP’s sound is bass-driven and stripped back, pairing shadowy atmospheres with sharp hooks and melodic choruses. Her writing moves instinctively between tension and release, creating songs that feel both stark and strangely uplifting. As XUP, Lane has released nine albums, steadily refining a sound that draws loose lineage from Siouxsie and the Banshees, Hole, and PJ Harvey’s early work. Her latest album ROBOTIKA, was released earlier this year on Cherry Vitriol Records.

LUNA CULT CLUB are a dark-wave trio from Manchester combining members from Trianglecuts, Futures We Lost, and Bethany Weaves. Their work fuses dual voices and electronic music with ritualistic movement and modern gothic. Their latest single, When Death Leaves, was released in April on Ghost Replica, and is the title track from their upcoming album.

NIK COCKSHOTT is the current mouthpiece of Dragon Welding. His previous bands include The Spores, Hen & The Keatons. Nik has also been focussing on his solo new wave/electronic project, releasing the Fiction, Refraction & Other Distractions album in late 2025.
