About this Event
The Rappahannock Art and Music Festival is a full-day public celebration of creativity, community, and connection. Hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Fredericksburg Area, the festival brings together local artists, musicians, makers, families, food vendors, community partners, and neighbors for a welcoming day in the park.
Set at John Lee Pratt Memorial Park on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the festival will feature artist booths, live music, stage performances, food vendors, conversation circles, and family-friendly space throughout the day. Visitors will be able to explore original work, hear local performers, enjoy the park, and take part in low-pressure opportunities to connect with others.
The festival is part of the League’s Unite & Rise initiative, which focuses on building stronger community ties, reducing isolation, and creating positive, accessible ways for people to engage with one another. The League is best known for nonpartisan voter education and civic engagement, but this event reflects a broader truth that strong communities and strong democracy both depend on people feeling connected, welcomed, and able to participate.
Throughout the festival, the League will host conversation circles, community discussions, voter registration and election information, and League information booths alongside the art and music programming. Live music and conversation circles will take place throughout the day, and a full schedule of performers, topics, and discussants will be posted below.
The Rappahannock Art and Music Festival is designed to be open, welcoming, and community-centered. Whether you come to discover local artists, hear live music, share a conversation, or simply spend the day with neighbors in a lively public space, the festival is meant to offer something worth showing up for.

- Hand dipped Ice Cream from local Dairy Farm in Remmington, VA Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry recently took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all of North America. Cups and Cones, Sundaes, Milkshakes, Floats, Flights, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Sodas, Bottled Water and Pup Cups for pets.
