About this Event
Rankin Scholar Jim Culleton, Artistic Director of Fishamble: The New Play Company in Dublin, Ireland, will introduce the work of Fishamble and discuss the development of new plays. Through exercises and readings, the workshop will explore some of the plays from Show in a Bag, an artist development initiative of Fishamble, Dublin Fringe Festival, and Irish Theatre Institute www.fishamble.com/show-in-a-bag which created 39 new productions over a decade. Then participants will have the opportunity to write and share a short piece of work.
The Rankin Scholar-in-Residence Series, named in honor of former Dean Marjorie Rankin and established through the continuing donations of her friends and colleagues, seeks to bring noted individuals to campus who excel in the multidisciplinary education championed by the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. The goal of the Series is to inspire students, stimulate research, invigorate professional networks, and aid in the continuing development of the Drexel community.
