RAMONA HORVATH is an eclectic virtuoso pianist, inspired by the greatest jazz masters of the instrument, with a fairly diverse musical universe.
She seeks to develop a personal style, firmly rooted in swing and bebop tradition while striving for modernity.
A very active pianist on the Parisian scene, she also regularly performs on concert stages, festivals and jazz clubs in major European cities:
Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Serbia ...
Born in Bucharest in a family of musicians, from a Romanian mother and a Hungarian father.
She earned her degree as a classical piano soloist from the National Conservatory of Music of Bucharest at age 23.
At the end of her studies, she met the American pianist of Hungarian origin, Jancy Korossy, an icon of international jazz from the 1950s-60s
behind the Iron Curtain. The two pianists also performed later on European stages for several years.
In 2010, Ramona moved to Paris where she met bassist Nicolas Rageau. They started to develop several projects together.
2015 her debut album "XS Bird '' (Black&Blue), which was awarded "Best jazz album" in Romania.
In 2017, there was a change in ensemble and sound for a new, more Ellingtonian album, "Lotus Blossom '' (Black&Blue).
In 2019, Ramona and bassist Nicolas Rageau recorded a duo album, "Le Sucrier Velours" (Black&Blue), which received a remarkable warm
reception in the French and international press.
In November 2023, Ramona released her fourth album "Carmen's Karma" (Camille Productions), recorded with her trio.

Zum elften Mal wird mit einem eigenen Berliner Festival der Reichtum des europäischen Jazz mit seinen unterschiedlichen Wurzeln, Dialekten und neuen Entwicklungen vorgestellt. Neben den 31 wunderbaren Musikern aus 16 europäischen Ländern veranstalten in diesem Jahr 10 europäische Kulturinstitute und Botschaften der Gemeinschaft der europäischen Kulturinstitute EUNIC Berlin das Festival. Jede einzelne Band präsentiert
dabei eigene Kompositionen und interpretiert bekannte Stücke aus ihrem jeweiligen Land neu oder in freier Improvisation. Darüber hinaus werden die Künstler ihre musikalische Herkunft aber auch auf neue Art miteinander verbinden, wenn jeden Abend Musiker verschiedener Kulturen direkt aufeinandertreffen.
