Tickets: Adults - $20 / Youth (age 14 and under) - pay what you can $5, $10 or $15.

Overview: (All Ages) Come dance under the setting sun, at your own volume. Rainbow Rave - our second annual silent disco, designed for folks who want a fun, low-pressure, and sensory-friendly way to move and connect. Whether you're a big dancer, a gentle swayer, or a curious observer, this all-ages dance party is for you. At check-in, you’ll receive sanitized wireless headphones that let you dial into the DJ’s beats and adjust your own volume. From the outside, it’s a peaceful waterfront sanctuary. Inside your headphones? Pure Pride dance floor.
What this event is:
This is Nanaimo Pride's second annual silent disco, held outdoors at Colliery Dam Park near the washroom building. Upon check-in, you’ll receive sanitized wireless headphones that let you tune into the DJ’s beats. Because all sound is experienced individually through headphones, there are no loudspeakers, making this a customizable, sensory-friendly experience. The atmosphere is open and flexible, so feel free to dance, sit, or wander nearby. While we will have water and light snacks available, there is no full concession; we encourage you to bring your own refreshments!
Accessibility:
Mobility: The event takes place on a mix of paved surfaces and hard-packed gravel paths. The area near the washroom building is generally level, though the park itself has significant slopes and inclines. Access from the parking lot to the event site follows a paved path. Washroom doors have a clearance width of 86 cm.
Seating: Limited permanent park benches are available. We highly recommend bringing your own lawn chairs or picnic blankets if you require guaranteed seating or a place to rest between dances.
Restrooms: Accessible, all-gender, multi-stall washrooms are located in the building directly adjacent to the event area. Washroom doors have a clearance width of 86 cm. These are public park facilities.
Parking and Transit: Limited paved parking is available in the main lot off Wakesiah Avenue, including designated accessible stalls. Additional street parking is available nearby. Bus route #40 (VIU Express) stops near the park entrance.
Other Services: Sanitized headphones provided. First Aid and Safe Space Crew will be easily identifiable on-site. There is no formal interpretation or captioning, as there is no spoken program.

Sensory Notes: Headphones allow for personal volume control, natural outdoor lighting, lots of space to spread out and distance. Outdoor setting - no tents. Potential exposure to varying weather conditions. Limited to 160 people in attendance. Some members of the public may pass by the event.
