Radical Glasgow Tours presents this exploration of the city's rich history of radical print
About this Event

This tour will last 2 hours and will cover a distance of just over 1 mile. The tour will follow a circular route staring and ending at the Briggait.

This tour will explore some of the city's rich history of radical print cultures, from anarchist booksellers and worker-run newspapers to seditious print shops, political posters and suppressed languages. People attending the tour will also learn about the surprisingly long history of radical stickers.

Attendees will receive an accompanying zine sharing resources, archive material and further reading on radical print histories of Glasgow.

Access on the tour:

There will be time to break along the way but our tours suffer from the same accessibility issues as the wider city: where possible we build stops around available seating, but this is a wider issue of provision and sometimes there can be long stretches of walking between seats.

The same is true of access to public toilets. Where possible we will incorporate a toilet stop on the walk, but the lack of public toilets is a result of wider council cuts and closures which disproportionately affect disabled people, carers and parents.

About the facilitators:

Radical Glasgow Tours are Katherine Mackinnon, Henry Bell and David Lees. We research, create and deliver interactive walking tours of Glasgow, exploring histories of activism, protest, political and social change.
