Registration will work like the past where we will open up only 90 spots, have a waitlist, and continue opening spots as moorage space allows. Registrations will be non-refundable nor transferable. Last year we sold out in hours and we were still accepting boats on the waitlist as late as 3 days prior to the race!!We will be moving boats up from the waitlist after the 90 initial spots are filled and as we receive confirmation on moorage space. In other words, just because you do not receive an initial registration spot, you should still register as we bring boats up the list based on the date they registered. If you are on the waitlist, you will not be required to pay until you receive a confirmation of a registered spot. Once you receive a confirmation that you have been moved up (Shannon will be personally calling you and email you), you will be invoiced for your registration fee which must be paid within 24 hours or we move the next boat in line up.
All registrants must have an active PHRF Rating or ORC rating to race. This is a non-negotiable. Please make sure that all of your registration information is correct including contact information.
This year we also have broken out the bigger boats into 2 categories (both single and double handed)...36' - 44' and over 44'. Please make sure to look at those new categories and register in the correct one.
Race to the Straits is on May 2nd and 3rd this year. There will be a required skipper meeting held on May 1st to go over safety requirements, the race course, and halfway event in Port Townsend.
