Hindustani classical music is as diverse and colorful as India itself. Rooted in ancient traditions spanning thousands of years, this art form is known for its intricate melodies and complex rhythms.On August 23rd, HAF is bringing you a Hindustani classical music gala, featuring vocalist Sanvitha Sridhar and tabla accompanist Dr. Rahul Pandit.
Together, Rahul, an avid supporter of HAF and member of our Houston chapter & Sanvitha, a classically trained musician and medical student, will mesmerize and educate you with their ragas (a collection of pitches) and puranas (stories) seamlessly woven into the Hindu tradition. You’ll explore the poetic depths of Nirguni bhajans by Kabir and Soordas alongside devotional pieces from popular films.
