About this Event

Queerlife Movements - a new event from the Queerlife Social family <3

This in-person event celebrates diversity and self-expression through movement. Unleash your inner baddie, pop star or performer as we explore the beauty of queer bodies through movent and dance.

Join us for a fun evening of dancing at the May-Scott studio, Hoxton hall , located at 130 Hoxton Street, London, UK.

Facilitated by Javani (they/he/she), a whirlwind of energy and creative thinking! They believe in authenticity and really showcasing culture and personal stories through art. The tricks in Javani’s bag are endless, and mean they are always able to jump in and support in whatever is needed. Javani has showcased a variety of skills on stage and on camera including gogo dancing at London venues and clubs like The Clapham Grand, Electrowerks, Beefmince, House of Trash, Coventry Carnival, Simmer down festival and Mighty Hoopla Festival , featuring in short films and campaigns for Pride and World Book Day, and being a host/emcee for summer and Christmas parties, wedding receptions, and even dance showcase productions.

Whether you're an experienced dancer/ performer or just starting out, this inclusive event welcomes everyone. Don't miss the chance to connect with like-minded individuals and celebrate the queer community through the power of movement.

Each session starts with some light stretching and some lighthearted and silly warm-up games, followed by learning a short routine to a small section of a song, with time to let go and perform it for yourselves/one another at the end. And if in doubt, twerk it out.

We look forward to seeing you there!
