Informal open mic for LGBTQ+ people (age 16+) in Edinburgh
About this Event

Join us in an informal and cosy setting to enjoy live entertainment from the queer community!

Give it a go with the support of your community! Share and enjoy live music, spoken word, poetry or comedy as we champion each other in a queer safer setting.

Together we’ll create a supportive space for people to try new material and share their talents on a small stage. Whether you’re hoping to perform or will be an appreciative audience member, we welcome all LGBTQ+ people and their allies (16+) to celebrate each other and create a kind space for giving it a go!

Ideas for what you can perform:

  • Poetry and spoken word
  • Songs and live music (bring your own instruments or backing music)
  • Dance and movement
  • Comedy / stand-up

Equipment available on the night:

  • Small stage area
  • Seating
  • Semi-acoustic guitar
  • Lecturn/music stand

We’re hoping to secure (but yet to confirm):

  • Small PA & 2 x mics/stands (up to 2 vocals and 1 instrument)

Who we welcome

All LGBTQ+ people aged 16+ in Edinburgh are welcome to join us.

We welcome the entire diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community including non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual people and all identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.

We also welcome people who are questioning/exploring their sexual orientation/gender identity, or who do not use labels for either.
